Who produces our stuff? In the spirit of transparency, we are opening up our books and showing you exactly who produces the items in our store.

Our T-Shirts and Tote Bag are made by Stanley/Stella in Bangladesh.

Since its launch in 2012, STANLEY/STELLA has focused on simplicity, highlighting the essence of the garment. They want to break codes and to change the perception of the textile industry. To offer products that respect people, the environment and customers. To produce more authentic and more responsible clothes that you are proud to wear and sell. Pieces that initiate change in the textile industry, made in a more humane, ethical and ecological way. More than 99% of Stanley/Stella textile production is made in Bengladesh in their 5 partner factories. The jackets in recycled polyester are made in China (Shuangxi). Stanley/Stella is convinced that manufacturing in Asia is a good thing if done properly. And properly means respecting the rights of the men and women that they employ. It means giving them the means to acquire new skills and to receive education and training. In Dhaka, they have a 19-person team, all Bangladeshi, that monitors their 5 partner factories every day. All of which are GOTS-certified and audited by the Fair Wear Foundation, of which Stanley/Stella is a recognized member. They also have a part-time Sourcing Manager in China to ensure Chinese suppliers' compliance with their quality standards and sustainable policies. They favor organic or recycled materials that care for your skin and the environment. Stanley/Stella never uses standard cotton. Most of the clothing is made from 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is a natural, GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. In addition, its production does not involve the use of chemicals (no fertilizers or pesticides) and encourages rotation of crops to keep soil healthier, more fertile and maintain humidity. Waste from the cotton ginning process is also recycled for the animal feed industry. The entire production chain benefits from the strictest environmental certifications and labels in the market. Among them - GOTS. GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard label. The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibres. GOTS tracks the entire chain of production from farm to factory: from harvesting of the cotton, weaving of fibres, assembly of items, to the final product before printing, including even the export of our clothing! It certifies that Stanley/Stella cotton is GMO-free and is grown without the use of chemicals and is processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances. GOTS also ensures compliance with the labour standards of the International Labour Organisation throughout the chain of production.
