Top research published in 2022 about Lewy body disease (LBD)
Here's a list of the 25 most cited journal articles on Lewy body disease (LBD)
Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) also known as Lewy body disease (LBD) is a type of progressive dementia that affects movement, cognition, and behavior. It is characterized by abnormal aggregates of a protein called alpha-synuclein, called Lewy bodies, that accumulate in the brain. The symptoms of LBD are similar to those of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease and can include cognitive decline, confusion, memory loss, visual hallucinations, and problems with movement, balance, and coordination. It can also cause fluctuations in attention and alertness, and sudden onset of Parkinsonism such as stiffness, tremors, and difficulty with movement. LBD is the second most common type of progressive dementia after Alzheimer's disease.
